Kate Carney Linthicum, RN, BSN, PHN, MSI-BC
Kate Carney Linthicum, RN, BSN, PHN, MSI-BC, is a nurse with over 20 years of professional service to her community. Her experience includes hospital acute care settings, emergency medicine, and in-home health services. She currently works as a Public Health Nurse performing assessments for dependent adults and senior citizens in the home. In addition to this, Kathleen is a Certified Mental Health First Aid Instructor, Certified Tobacco Cessation Educator, Foundation Training Instructor, and a mentor for nursing students in the community. As a holistic nurse, Kathleen acknowledges and respects every adult’s right to self-determination. She provides education, guidance, and medical support to allow each client to actively participate in his or her own unique and ongoing healing process. Kathleen received the Ventura County Medical Resource Foundation, David C. Fainer, M.D. “Community Nurse of the Year” Award in 2012. Every aspect of Kathleen’s practice as a holistic nurse is evidence based and supported by scientific literature. Kathleen utilizes the skills and approach to Mindfulness Meditation as taught by Dr. Susan Taylor and the National Center for Meditation Science as a Board Certified Meditation Specialist Instructor. Kathleen’s personal interests are varied. She loves to sing and has performed as a jazz vocalist in the Ventura area for many years. She enjoys primarily outdoor activities; yoga, swimming, hiking – especially stand-up paddle boarding.
